Do You Believe in Ghosts?

If so, download my Paranormal memoir!

The House on Pancake Hill

The reviews are great. I've received emails from others who have shared similar experiences as a child. I'm thankful that the story has FINALLY been told.

My purpose for writing this book was to help other psychic kids and teens. Living with these gifts can make them feel isolated, so if you know of any teens who may be dealing with paranormal activity right now, then please pass this book on to them! If you do not own a Kindle, you can download to your computer. Thanks!

Book Lover Stereotypes...

Saw this article and had to share it with you . . .
Does any of this ring true for you?!

Libraries . . . My Guilty Pleasure!

I am thankful that my Mother instilled a love of reading in me . . . a trip to the library after school was like going to Disney World for me on a hometown level!

Our library was a three story brick and mortar Victorian building that was built in 1872. As soon as I stepped foot inside, I was transported to a different realm.

There is nothing like the smell of an old library. This one was immaculate - the interior wood paneling, posts, railings and floors smelled of polish...it was Heaven to me!
I used to dread when it was time to leave,
my arms filled with books, with room for just one more....ahhhhh!

♥ End Bullying - Empower Children Early! ♥

When I published, I am Special -- The Power is in ME this year, my intent was to start teaching children from a young age that they M-A-T-T-E-R! When you provide them with that foundation of knowing that they have an inner power that they can tap into at any given time, they will receive a gift that will last a lifetime.

I am Special -- The Power is in ME does just that. Children are born with the innocence and purity of not having any limitations on what they can or cannot do. This book teaches focus. Strength. Love for others. Respect. And most of all, a way to sit and listen to what they are feeling. If they are faced with difficult issues, they can go to that sacred space inside of themselves and sort through everything. And as adults, we need to cherish each and every child we meet and let them know that they ARE special and strong and can do anything they want.

The feedback that I've received from parents as well as Early Childhood educators has been wonderful. Many teachers are using this book in the classroom and have set aside "quiet time" throughout the day to help their students re-group and unwind when needed. That makes me so happy because I know first hand how guided meditation and quiet time helped in my Pre-K classroom.

If you are an organization that works with Bullying, then this book will help your little ones tremendously. When children learn that they are empowered, and they become more aware that other students in their classroom or groups are working together for a more peaceful environment, miracles happen. You will begin to see a more sensitive, and empathetic side to them and they will become mentors towards their peers....it's amazing!

So, give this book a try and please report back to me with any feedback you may experience afterwards!

Hurrah For The Weekend! What I'm Reading....

OMG, you guys! I am reading, Gone Girl right now and will probably finish it by tonight.

So many twists and turns -- Gillian Flynn has not let any inch of her reader's brains go untouched. She "notices" things through her character's mind's eye that we, as bystanders may have thought of at times during these types of situations, but have never considered that the actual person(s) involved would be that aware of at the moment. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

If you want a good read, go get Gone Girl today!

♥ Great advice! ♥

When I saw this quote, it truly resonated with me...all throughout my life, there have been some people who told me that being a Writer was a pipe dream. Even when I worked a regular 9-5 job, I still continued to write. It was my creative outlet. My dream. My passion.

It took my cancer diagnosis, my divorce after 24 years of marriage, a move and living life alone for the first time ever for me to decide to write full time. I say that cancer was a "gift" because it made me set aside all fear. Doctors had given me a death sentence and predicted that I had three to five years. What did I have to lose if I didn't give it a try?

I've always had that Irish streak in me and a sense of competition to never give up, so I put my all into my writing. I joined Writer's associations, started going to workshops and writer's conferences. I belong to an awesome writer's critique group that meets once a week. After all of my hard work and dedication, I now have two blogs, this one as well as a daily blog, Living La Vida Lymphoma, plus, I've published three books this year.

I guess my message to you today is, NEVER let other people tell you what you can or cannot do! No one is the boss of YOU! Follow your dreams...if it doesn't work out, then move onto the next dream! Follow your bliss, Beloveds! ♥

ONLY ONE MORE WEEK, MY PARANORMAL POSSE!!!

I am getting soooo antsy ... I just want to tell my story already!
I hid everything in for so long and now it's time...
Writing The House on Pancake Hill has been so cathartic for me in so many ways. Yesterday, while doing a final read-through with my Writer's critique group, I began to cry at one point. SOBBING! I've done so many edits and had never experienced this raw emotion before. One of the writers continued to finish reading the chapter for me, and at the end, another reached over and touched my hand tenderly and said that the part that I began crying was when I was talking about my mother comforting me...whew!
Last night I told my best friend about it and she said that most likely, my mother was standing right beside me, I was overcome with emotion and it all bubbled to the surface. I got instant "goosies" the minute she said it, which is my confirmation from Spirit that she was right. As you will read in this book, I truly kept what went on inside The House on Pancake Hill a secret so this is a release for me...I am finally letting it go!
Stay tuned for IT'S release on Halloween....XOXOXO

A Shout Out To My PARANORMAL POSSE - - - Only 8 More Days!!!

The House on Pancake Hill

will be available on Halloween!

It's time that my story has been told...

Stay tuned!

C-R-E-A-T-E! ♥

One of my BIG beefs with education...when school districts make budget cuts, Fine Arts are usually the first thing to go. No wonder why we end up with so many people in this world who are struggling with a 9-5 job they hate, their health in turn becomes an issue and then come the "wouldas, shouldas, couldas"...they are creative and talented people "stuck" in the rat race.

If your inner child was stifled by others, make it a point to start spending some time each day to rekindle your inner need for creativity to flow from your fingertips, Beloveds! ♥

COOL IDEA!

WHAT AN AWESOME CONCEPT!!!! ♥, ♥, ♥ IT!!!
As a former Early Childhood Educator, I was always searching for ways to encourage the love of reading. Many of the children that I taught were at below poverty level. Once a week, during nap time, I'd leave the children with my classroom assistants and I'd choose 5 children to go to the school library with me to pick books for our reading corner. Many of my students had never seen, let alone touched a book in their house, OR had the opportunity to go to a library! I delighted in seeing their little faces light up when they began to love books!

I developed my own classroom library system where children and their parents could "check out" a book to take home and return it the next day. I had a room mother who was bilingual and she'd tape record children's books for me to use in my Listening Center. I always bought books for them as gifts at Christmas time.

The idea that is featured in this picture really excited me! How easy would that be to have at a bus stop, or a park?
C'mon lotto! I want to make things happen!

♫ ♫ ♫ M-E-M-O-R-I-E-S! ♫ ♫ ♫

I just found this picture on Facebook (on the Night Walker page...EXCELLENT artwork!) and fell in love with it! It was made by the artist, Sara Riches and reminds me of myself as a little girl. Two of my most favorite things to do was to swing or read for hours, and this work of art combines both!
Thanks, Sara for making me smile this morning and think about those care-free days!
(Maybe I will go in search of finding a swing today....AFTER I finish my writing for the day!)

AM I THE ONLY ONE???!

Many years ago, I made a list of things that I wanted to accomplish in my lifetime...kinda like a "bucket list." One of the bullet points was, that I someday wanted to write full-time while wearing my PJ's and sipping cups of tea. Well, that part has come true and I DO wear my PJ's while I write...why not? I'm up most mornings between 3 - 5 a.m. Pajamas are comfortable and I usually get "dressed" around noon-ish! (Unless I really get a BIG creative streak going and then, who knows what time I'll ditch the PJ's! HAHAHA!) I'd love to hear from other writers to see if they wear their pajamas while they work!

Who Knows?

This makes me laugh! I am in "limbo" with my writing at the present moment. The House on Pancake Hill is almost ready to launch (on Halloween) and most of the writing I've been doing lately is for my two blogs, as well as some non-fictional short stories. There are ALWAYS my other unfinished projects to go to, but I'm looking for inspiration to smack me upside the head! The temperatures outside are changing and autumn gets those creative juices flowing again, so who knows what the near future holds for me and my writing? Only my fingers and keyboard know!
