One of My Favorite Early Childhood Books - The Kissing Hand!

When I was a Pre-K teacher, every year, I'd host a new parent meeting the day before the first day of school. The children were invited as well. Once the meeting was over, I'd invite them all to join me on the rug for a story. I'd read them, The Kissing Hand, and then I'd have the children each choose a colorful, laminated pre-cut hand print. I'd write their name on the center of the palm and tell the mommies or daddies to let their child bring the hand print to school the next day so that they could kiss it and their child could have that constant reminder to stick in their pocket (or hold onto) all day until they returned in the afternoon to pick them up.
It was ALWAYS a hit!
