ONLY ONE MORE WEEK, MY PARANORMAL POSSE!!!

I am getting soooo antsy ... I just want to tell my story already!
I hid everything in for so long and now it's time...
Writing The House on Pancake Hill has been so cathartic for me in so many ways. Yesterday, while doing a final read-through with my Writer's critique group, I began to cry at one point. SOBBING! I've done so many edits and had never experienced this raw emotion before. One of the writers continued to finish reading the chapter for me, and at the end, another reached over and touched my hand tenderly and said that the part that I began crying was when I was talking about my mother comforting me...whew!
Last night I told my best friend about it and she said that most likely, my mother was standing right beside me, I was overcome with emotion and it all bubbled to the surface. I got instant "goosies" the minute she said it, which is my confirmation from Spirit that she was right. As you will read in this book, I truly kept what went on inside The House on Pancake Hill a secret so this is a release for me...I am finally letting it go!
Stay tuned for IT'S release on Halloween....XOXOXO

C-R-E-A-T-E! ♥

One of my BIG beefs with education...when school districts make budget cuts, Fine Arts are usually the first thing to go. No wonder why we end up with so many people in this world who are struggling with a 9-5 job they hate, their health in turn becomes an issue and then come the "wouldas, shouldas, couldas"...they are creative and talented people "stuck" in the rat race.

If your inner child was stifled by others, make it a point to start spending some time each day to rekindle your inner need for creativity to flow from your fingertips, Beloveds! ♥

COOL IDEA!

WHAT AN AWESOME CONCEPT!!!! ♥, ♥, ♥ IT!!!
As a former Early Childhood Educator, I was always searching for ways to encourage the love of reading. Many of the children that I taught were at below poverty level. Once a week, during nap time, I'd leave the children with my classroom assistants and I'd choose 5 children to go to the school library with me to pick books for our reading corner. Many of my students had never seen, let alone touched a book in their house, OR had the opportunity to go to a library! I delighted in seeing their little faces light up when they began to love books!

I developed my own classroom library system where children and their parents could "check out" a book to take home and return it the next day. I had a room mother who was bilingual and she'd tape record children's books for me to use in my Listening Center. I always bought books for them as gifts at Christmas time.

The idea that is featured in this picture really excited me! How easy would that be to have at a bus stop, or a park?
C'mon lotto! I want to make things happen!

♫ ♫ ♫ M-E-M-O-R-I-E-S! ♫ ♫ ♫

I just found this picture on Facebook (on the Night Walker page...EXCELLENT artwork!) and fell in love with it! It was made by the artist, Sara Riches and reminds me of myself as a little girl. Two of my most favorite things to do was to swing or read for hours, and this work of art combines both!
Thanks, Sara for making me smile this morning and think about those care-free days!
(Maybe I will go in search of finding a swing today....AFTER I finish my writing for the day!)

AM I THE ONLY ONE???!

Many years ago, I made a list of things that I wanted to accomplish in my lifetime...kinda like a "bucket list." One of the bullet points was, that I someday wanted to write full-time while wearing my PJ's and sipping cups of tea. Well, that part has come true and I DO wear my PJ's while I write...why not? I'm up most mornings between 3 - 5 a.m. Pajamas are comfortable and I usually get "dressed" around noon-ish! (Unless I really get a BIG creative streak going and then, who knows what time I'll ditch the PJ's! HAHAHA!) I'd love to hear from other writers to see if they wear their pajamas while they work!

Who Knows?

This makes me laugh! I am in "limbo" with my writing at the present moment. The House on Pancake Hill is almost ready to launch (on Halloween) and most of the writing I've been doing lately is for my two blogs, as well as some non-fictional short stories. There are ALWAYS my other unfinished projects to go to, but I'm looking for inspiration to smack me upside the head! The temperatures outside are changing and autumn gets those creative juices flowing again, so who knows what the near future holds for me and my writing? Only my fingers and keyboard know!
